Red,white, & Krispy treats!

Happy 4th of July my friends! Today I decided to make this fun patriotic treat for the family. It's super easy and simple. (Credits to Pinterest)
So I though I'd share this with you, and you can even make it for today as well!

To make this treat you will need to make three separate HALF batches of Rice Krispy Treats.
(1 1/2 tbsp of butter, 2 cups of marshmallows, and 3 cups of Rice Krispies)
You also need a 9x3 pan, an 9x9 pan, a star shaped cookie cutter, and red and white food coloring .
Start each batch by melting your butter and marshmallows. Leave one batch plain!
Add a little bit of blue coloring to one batch, I kept putting more food coloring until I got the right blue.. Then do the same for the red. And while I poured the rice Krispys I added more food coloring.

So I actually didn't have all the right pans.. So I used just any pan I could find to put the blue in, and estimate the size i want it to be.
Add the red batch into your larger pan filling up only half of the pan.
Last make your batch of plain Rice Krispy Treats and add them into the batch with the red treats.
Once the Rice Krispy treats have cooled, turn them out of the pans.(make sure to use cooking spray before putting the treats on the pan)

Use a knife, cut into long strips. I ended up with 4 strips of each.
Place the blue treat into the top left corner of the large pan, and estimate the size that you want it to be. Trim off some blue treats with your knife.
Starting at the bottom with red strip treats, add in the white and red. You will have to cut the top 4 or 3 pieces to fit into the pan next to the blue.
And then the fun part! So I didn't have a star shaped cookie cutter. But with the help of my husband, he helped me as much as possible to make these stars. They do look funky but meh! They're going to be eaten anyway. :)
Happy 4th! Hope you have a great Independence Day with your loved ones !
